The Emotion of Motion Workshop with Matt Karas

October 27th & 28th, 2018

Have you ever wanted to capture the emotion of dancers in motion?

A dancer can perform exquisite leaps and classic positions, but when photographed, the dancers may not convey the exquisite feelings that have motivated these moves.

Matt Karas's energizing and inspiring workshop on how to capture the "Emotion of Motion" teaches photographers of all levels, from beginners to professionals, how to capture not only the magic moments of dance, but its expressive potential as well.

Working with dancers from Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, NYCB, and the Mariinsky Ballet; Matt recently shot The Kennedy Center's 2018-2019 season campaign. With over 50 Dance Magazine Covers and 15 years of experience to his credit, Matt shares his techniques for freezing dancers in motion and involves you in the process while you shoot 4 incredible professional dancers each day. During the workshop, you will be shooting with a Hasselblad H6D using Broncolor lighting equipment. Being tethered to the computer you will see images immediately, then direct the dancers to develop your own style.
